An accreditation process that requires less work to organize, and leads to more robust and useful results: has the dream of both accreditation organizations and institutions in higher education finally come true?
Last april, we launched a pilot project with Wageningen University & Research to organize an accreditation process using a development-oriented approach. This approach is aimed at significantly reducing workload, while increasing the usability of the results. The bachelor’s and master’s programme Biology were assessed using existing documents, with the majority of the site visit spent on dialogue aimed at future development.
The details and lessons learned can be found in our new paper ‘Towards a development-oriented approach to programme assessment: a Dutch case study‘. This paper is part of the 20th Anniversary Publication of ENQA.
